But let’s talk positives – if you play Reikenor’s Condemned between now and the new book, you get to benefit from both hit rerolls for Chainrasps as well as the +1 to hit from the new warscroll which is pretty nice if you want a brief period of supercharged Chainrasps. Oh and Myrmourn Banshees have an interesting defined role now, which is nice. Slaves to Impulse (Double, all Slaangors): Perform a bonus move towards the closest enemy as long as it was maximum 6″ away. Brokk Grungsson – He’s sooooooo much fun and adds a little combat punch to the list to help finish off units that may have been left after some bad rolls. After years of collecting, buying and selling, building and painting, we realised that we had amassed a small library of Build Instructions, Assembly Instructions and User Guides for various Games Workshop products.

The best case scenario is you deep strike this unit 12” away to pepper something and hold an area of the board. The problem is, why wouldn’t I use Chainrasps for that role? The Craventhrone aren’t going to kill a damn thing anyway, so I’d rather have double the wounds for the same cost. 12” range means you can’t keep them safe from any melee units, and they’re an inefficient screen, an inefficient ranged unit and an absolutely amazing sculpt. Seriously guys, these models are great. End on a high note, right? Wrapping things up I also painted up some Ungors using the same scheme the next day, I bought the BoC Start Collecting box so I might as well, right? points for 10 models and you can take them in groups of 5 for 80 if you really want, and in a subfaction you can summon 5 for free once per game, anywhere on the table So far I’d kept the palette the same throughout: Mortal and Seeker Flesh, Gor and Seeker scales, Fur and cloth were consistent, but I wanted the Daemonettes to have that classic pale purple and while I’m not super happy with how they turned out I think they just about get away with it and I made their leather clothing the same Gor blue colour to key them in a bit:I think from a design perspective, if they left the army as killy as it was before but with the current summoning rules and the locus was: “if you slay a model, that model/unit counts as being slain, but stays on the table until after depravity points are generated, and then at the end of the turn remove them from the table” – or something along those lines – the faction would have fared alright. That would make it so you weren’t discarding your own allegiance ability for killing an enemy, and the opponent would still get to use their toys for the rest of the turn. Slaanesh disciples are divided between those searching for him, those pretending to have replaced him by ascending to godhood and those that do not care and thrive only in war and unending conquests. Dance of the Wailing Blade (Double, all Myrmidesh Painbringers): Add 1 to the damage inflicted this round by hits or critical hits. And yet, for all their supplication and sacrifice, the Hedonites find their master’s throne empty, for the God of Excess lies imprisoned between the realms by the sorcery of its aelven nemeses. It is for this reason that roving bands of Slaanesh’s faithful march from realm to realm, seeking out any information they can find that might aid in their god’s release – and slaughtering all who would dare get in their way. To combat this, the decision has been made to publish the top three without comments. Where possible, writers will then revisit in the future to add comments if they feel its necessary.

Just before the launch of the new wave of Slaanesh mortals, Games Workshop presented different tutorials to get ready as soon as you can put your hands on the newest models in town. Ellarr: If I wanted to include a ranged unit in my army, I’d rather bring Chainghasts – they have longer range, one more pip of rend and wound on 3’s. You know what’s better than ignoring cover? More rend. Prepare to gaze into the Dark Prince’s mirror again as we show off even more Hedonites that are available as fighter cards. The Hag also has a more consistent combat profile. (not that you really want her combat anyway, but still)

The archers on-foot are the cheapest units of the Dark Revellers. Even the leader is one of the cheapest leaders around. Note: if you haven’t read the basic rules for Warcry before reading this article, it might be helpful to know that the game’s abilities are activated by using 6 dice that you roll at the start of your turn. This is a hard one to assess because as of this writing Slaanesh isn’t doing so hot. Slaanesh mortals even worse so. So whether you want this is going to hinge entirely on whether or not your interested in pursuing a Hedonites of Slaanesh Mortals army regardless of how well you’ll do on the table. But where did the whip come from? Oh yeah, I bought the Start Collecting: Daemons of Slaanesh and Painbringers kits too, so I could add more bits to the mix. Using these kits, my next task was to find out how to introduce the Daemons into the mix without blowing the colour palette up even more. I started out with the Seekers and painted them in the Beasts of Chaos colours:
