This was my first time reading something truly as dark as this. I've read other books with heavy triggers, but this book was different. I read Satan's Affair beforehand (highly recommend reading that first) and I wasn't entirely sure what this book was going to be about. I knew a past murder, stalking, and love were involved, but that was it. If you had told me one of my top reads from 2021 would've been a stalker romance, I would've laughed in your face. Not only is the romance good, and the spice is off the charts hot, but the overarching story is just so good. OKAY OKAY IM GETTING DISTRACTED BECAUSE THIS SCENE WHTH THE OM WAS GOOD FOR NO REASON. Zade interrupts the moment by banging on the door and luring Archie outside… where he kidnaps and proceeds to torture and murder him💞 As the pieces fall into place, it becomes evident that the haunting is deeply intertwined with Adeline’s own family history, forcing her to confront long-held secrets and uncover the truth.

So, Hunting Adeline is a very heavy book. Granted they both are, but Hunting Adeline is the more mentally/emotionally taxing of the two books in this duet. It does end with a happily ever after for Addie and Zade, but it’s a dark journey to get there.
