About this deal

The most widely used panels are those with 6, 8, and 10 bits for each of the RGB components of the pixel. They provide 18-, 24-, and 30-bit color, respectively. The Lenovo G27q-30 rendered 99% of sRGB and 85% of P3, so it falls short of the company’s claimed color spec. However, it has an excellent default accuracy with a dE average of 1.18, so it is ready to go right away. We didn’t have to do anything to start playing games, so this model is highly suitable even for beginners.

Approximate diagonal size of the display. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the diagonal is calculated from the width and height of the screen. Added that the HP OMEN 27q has better Color Accuracy before calibration and a more customizable sRGB mode. The operating humidity shows the acceptable level of humidity, in which the display will function flawlessly. It sets a lower and an upper humidity level for safe operation and is measured in percentage.Information of the number of pixels in a unit of length. With the decrease of the display size and the increase of its resolution, the pixel density increases. Impressive. I am really, really impressed with this new monitor from Lenovo. I bought it to use in portrait mode alongside my main screen – a Dell U3219Q (4k 32″). It replaces an older dell 24″ 1080p monitor that was filling this role. My main use for the new G27q-30 is for graphic design and code and so the 123% sRGB colour gamut, 350cd/m 2 and 1000:1 contrast ratio really made this monitor stand out against any other screen at this price point. G27q-20’s 27-inch In-Plane Switching panel display renders stunning, undistorted game graphics at the widest possible viewing angles. At 400 cd/m2, images shine bright and with HDR decoding happening in real time, each picture is restored to its original values to make every scene resonate with life-like quality. And vibrant, accurate colors are rendered in a 99 percentage sRGB color gamut with 10-bit color. With its superfine QHD 2560 x 1440 resolution, every detail is sharp and clear, so players will never miss critical information on their mission The operating temperature shows the safe temperature range (from minimum to maximum), within which the display will function flawlessly. Outside this range it might operate improperly and/or fail entirely. The high refresh rate and contrast make for smooth scrolling and great video performance too. I’m not a gamer – so would be interested in your thoughts on this monitor if you are, although you would probably be more interested in the G27q-20, which come with an IPS panel. Having said that, there are plenty of gaming specific settings in the menus to help you get the best use out of it. Connectivity

The dynamic contrast shows the ratio between the brightest and the darkest color, which the display can reproduce over time, for example, in the course of playing a video. Size class of the display as declared by the manufacturer. Often this is the rounded value of the actual size of the diagonal in inches. Following the usual online calibration tools, the G27q-30 is easy to set up for best performance (I didn’t have to change much and seems to be fairly well calibrated out of the box). In contrast, my dell U3219Q (several times the price of the Lenovo), whilst being an excellent monitor, has never quite given me the level of colour accuracy that I wanted. Information about whether the stand can be dismounted. Usually, this is required for wall mounting.

Design and Features

Panel uniformity for the test sample had some minor issues in the lower right corner of the screen. It has a noticeable variance in brightness, but there was no actual clouding while the monitor was in use. Note that this can vary between every monitor made due to manufacturing tolerances, so there are better units out there. Information about the maximum vertical viewing angle, within which the image on the screen is of acceptable quality.

I was almost tempted by some of the 32″ screens that are available for not much more money than I paid for the Lenovo G27q-30, but the contrast, colour accuracy and brightness of this new screen by Lenovo is far superior than any of the alternatives, and it really shines through during use. This change of mind return policy is in addition to, and does not affect your rights under the Australian Consumer Law including any rights you may have in respect of faulty items. To return faulty items see our Returning Faulty Items policy. The Lenovo G27q-30 isn’t too heavy at 12.8 pounds, so we can still consider it as a portable option for LAN parties or events. It’s slightly deeper than some budget models, but it is still within the acceptable range for shallower desks. It will be bigger than your standard display at school or work, but most should be able to accommodate it even if they have other desktop peripherals. Overall I’m really impressed with this screen at this price point. If you are working with media, office files or video then you won’t be disappointed. Yes, connectivity is limited – to get a screen this good and a full suit of inputs and a USB hub then you are going to have to spend quite a bit more.Information about the brightness of the screen. It is measured in candela per square metre (cd/m²).

A LUT (Look Up Table) contains precalculated sets of values that are used to apply transformations to the input color data so that the resulting data meets certain (the desired) visual standard and color accuracy. For example, LUT can be used to emulate/map different color spaces and gamma settings. Many professional monitors as well as some TVs have programmable internal LUTs allowing more control over the image. The Lenovo G27q-30 worked without hesitation when it was plugged in, and it switched right away to the proper port as soon as the computer fired up. The only downside with it is that it doesn’t have an HDMI cable, so you will need to buy one if you want to use this for a console. Updated to Test Bench 1.2, resulting in changes to the results and scores with the Response Time and Input Lag. Added tests for Console Compatibility and macOS compatibility and made minor changes to other tests, which you can see in our Changelog. There are various panel technologies. Each has its own specific features - viewing angles, color reproduction, response time, brightness/contrast, production cost, etc. The image quality depends directly on the type of the display panel used. Information about the average amount of time, in which the pixels change from one color to another.Information about whether there is a possibility for wall mounting according to the VESA Mounting Interface Standard (MIS).
