Whole Again felt very different. and by that I mean, it didn't have the same Burton-esque feel. They brighten up the darkness quite a bit in this story It was less eerie. The colors were more vibrant and everything seem alot more cheerful. Although technically, in the movie the suburb neighborhood was those things. don't get me wrong Whole Again was still enjoyable but for my personal taste I'm always drawn to a gloomy atmosphere and honestly, you actually expect it when venturing into a world in relation to Burton because its the most familiar quality within all his work. In a castle high on a hill lives Edward; a boy created by an eccentric inventor. When his creator dies, he is left alone and unfinished with only scissors for hands until a kindly townswoman invites him to live with her suburban family. Can Edward find his place in the well-meaning community which struggles to see past his curious appearance to the innocence and gentleness within?

The story takes place way off in the future after the events that took place in the movie. Megan is Kim's granddaughter and she is trying to understand about her grand mom's fondness for Edward Scissorhands. Edward, on the other hand, confined in a solitary mansion, finds a broken robot and awakens him. I think if you've read a lot of stories that goes this way, you might be able to tell what will happen next. The robot runs away and scares everyone in the neighborhood, Megan befriends Edward and they save the day! Owen Gleiberman, writing for Entertainment Weekly, gave the film an "A−" rating, commending Elfman's score and calling the character of Edward "Burton's surreal portrait of himself as an artist: a wounded child converting his private darkness into outlandish pop visions", and "Burton's purest achievement as a director so far." Of Depp he wrote, "Depp may not be doing that much acting beneath his neo-Kabuki makeup, but what he does is tremulous and affecting." [44] Edward Scissorhands". Molto colore, nero e chiaroscuri sapientemente utilizzati per le atmosfere più gothic o i momenti di suspense, contorni marcati e accostamenti attraenti.

The second plot within 'Final Cut' revolves around Edward’s identity and the prospect of a doctor being able to change his life by giving him the hands he never received from the inventor. With the help of his new friends, Edward makes an audition tape for ‘Get Wells’, a reality television show with Dr. April Wells, who gives people extravagant makeovers. Edward is hopeful and excited for this possibility, Megs however is worried; perhaps all isn’t what it seems? We follow Edward, The Boggs’ and their friends as they take a road trip to the ‘Get Wells’ studios where Edward’s life may be about to change forever. Edward may look human, but he is no ordinary boy, his scissors for hands attest to that. One day, Edward finds himself left unfinished and alone in a castle on the hill following the death of his eccentric inventor. Edward Sausage Fangs" is a song by Australian punk band Frenzal Rhomb, poking fun at a young man working at a pizza shop dressed in gothic clothing. [64] [65] Myself and my family love the story of Edwards Scissorhands and so I HAD to come and see the show. I didn't look much into the show before attending, so had no idea what to expect. The story was slightly different from the film from the start, but this did not spoil the show at all, the spirit of Edward was strong and was shown throughout the show. The portrayal of the story was not what I expected, but I am so glad it was performed in the way it was. It really helped the whole fairytale of Edward become an experience to share rather than to simply be retold. The music was beautiful, the costumes and set stunning and helped to tell the story perfectly. As for the acting/dancing/cats.... their performances were outstanding! The cast exuded the emotions which ran throughout the show, I found myself totally swept up in all that was going on, so much so, I was so moved at the end, I had to sit down from my standing ovation I wished to give! I left the theatre feeling elated, I had a real buzz from the whole experience of Edward Scissorhands. I cannot thank the cast, the technical crew and all the people who worked so hard and brilliantly to put on an awesome show. The great news for me is that I will be seeing it again with my sister! I can't wait to enjoy Edward Scissorhands again... well done to all involved and thank you for a fabulous evening out. The Artist has mesmerised film audiences across the world for over a decade, winning five Academy Awards, seven BAFTAs and three Golden Globe Awards. Now the beguiling love story is reinvented for the stage in a dazzling celebration of silent cinema that blends cutting-edge theatre-making with iconic music of the period.

It should be noted that my husband doesn't like to read, and has been somewhat reluctant to read comic books. When we read this one and we got near the end he exclaimed "No! It can't be over. I want the rest of the story. I want to read it all right now!" After finishing it and discussing it and looking at some of the pictures again he told me "This is the comic book that has made me love comic books. I need all of these." Edward Scissorhands". Maybe the ending was too abrupt for my tastes, I’m not sure. Anyway, it was nice to see how things were going for Edward, but there was a touch of sadness to it all. His seclusion all this time, him missing Kim, etc. I love Edward as a character, and always have, so my heart kinda of broke for him a few times while reading this.Tim Burton’s bittersweet fantasy stars Johnny Depp as the unfortunate, unfinished creation of a scientist (Vincent Price in one of his last on-screen roles) who died leaving him with blades for hands. Taken in by Dianne Wiest’s kindly Avon lady Peg, Edward tries to adapt to suburban life. But despite the support of Peg’s sympathetic daughter (Winona Ryder), his strangeness makes it impossible to fit in. A touching and terrifically staged fairytale. Names in the News". Portsmouth Daily Times. March 25, 1991. Archived from the original on July 15, 2020 . Retrieved July 31, 2013. Peter Travers of Rolling Stone praised the piece by stating, "Burton's richly entertaining update of the Frankenstein story is the year's most comic, romantic and haunting film fantasy." He continued by praising Depp's performance, stating, "Depp artfully expresses the fierce longing in gentle Edward; it's a terrific performance" and the "engulfing score" from Danny Elfman. [39] Staff of Variety spoke highly of the film, "Director [Burton] takes a character as wildly unlikely as a boy whose arms end in pruning shears, and makes him the center of a delightful and delicate comic fable."
