Taylor, Christian's chief bodyguard, now has three guys under his command, and all four of them are cruising the party, keeping an eye out for Ms. In all of this, Ana discovers more about Christian's extremely troubled past - the abuse he suffered at the hands of his birth mother's pimp, which gives explanation as to why he loathes being touched and his scars, his mother's eventual death from an overdose, his inability to speak in his infant years, his incredible anger and desire to fight throughout his teenage years and his exploitation at the hands of Elena who apparently teaches him about domination and loveless sex. He's still very possessive and very controlling but seeing how much he really cares for Ana in this book made me just fall apart.

It makes me think that the AUTHOR is looking at a photograph of some hottie they're using for the hero and describing. Very dissapointed with the end which completely left me feeling a bit ripped off for the credit i'd wasted.Or will the possessiveness of Elena, his seducer, and the deranged devotion of Leila, his former submissive, drag Christian down into the past? That is not the proper response to your boyfriend's revelation that he likes to abuse and sex you because you look like his mom! Rachel wrote: "Karla (Mossy Love Grotto) wrote: "Sadly, there is a portion of the romance-reading public who only focus on the sex scenes and pretty much skim everything else. That doesn't stop her from worrying that she might not be enough for him because of his proclivities, but she gradually comes to a place of accepting what is true in the present and trying not to borrow trouble.

Occasionally he can be a bit aggravating, particularly with his reticence about his past, but I like how Ana challenges him to see things differently and how he's willing to make accommodations for her. One of Christian's "ex-subs" (that's ex-submissive for those who aren't in the know *wink wink*) is wandering around, apparently armed and gunning for Ana. Daunted by the singular tastes and dark secrets of the beautiful, tormented young entrepreneur Christian Grey, Anastasia Steele has broken off their relationship.

They rekindle their searing sensual affair, and Anastasia learns more about the harrowing past of her damaged, driven and demanding Fifty Shades. Plus, I had a few people tell me they couldn't wait for my reviews of the second and third Fifty books.

You're not used to this consensual punishment thing (not to mention the fact that you never explicitly consented in the first place) and your man is enjoying viciously turning your ass into a slab of raw beef, and you forget there's an easy way out of it. Ana is portrayed as a much stronger character in this novel from her appearance in the first one, simpering over Grey. Ana has told this man with a horrific past that she needs distance and he needs to sort his stuff out. don't read on if you haven't read book 1 - whilst I won't give any spoilers to this book, I don't want to spoil book 1 for you! While Christian wrestles with his inner demons, Ana must confront the anger and envy of the women who came before her, and make the most important decision of her life. All this and 2 extra dramatic episodes occur as 2 of Christian's ex-subs turn up: Leila, who is mentally unstable, and Elena, who was Christian's older woman affair and the one who Ana grows to hate, quite strongly.
