The title, to me, implied that the ghosts played vital roles in the storyline, second only to the main character, Leigh. Shawn would be the first to tell you, being a husband and father is by far the wildest and most rewarding part of life. I enjoyed seeing Leigh’s growth throughout the story as well as her internal dialogue shift from the initial thoughts she had upon arriving at the manor. It’s more young adult in nature, the premise is interesting, as is the ghost aspect , and I think Leigh embodies the teenagers essence, selfish, unreasonable and almost childish when there’s something they want. Told from the third-person perspective of its titular heroine, Leigh Howard and the Ghosts of Simmons-Pierce Manor is a young adult fiction novel telling the story of Leigh Howard, a recent orphan investigating the mysterious circumstances of her parents death while navigating her new life in the Simmons-Pierce manor and her new family, along with the manor's multifaceted ghost, Ichabod Pierce.

Even if all the purchases were on Kindle, not everyone can speed read through 265 pages, especially people who don't seem to read much in the first place. With its atmospheric setting, captivating characters, and captivating characters this novel will keep readers on the edge of their seats as Leigh and Max navigate the treacherous world of the supernatural to uncover the truth behind the haunting of Simmons-Pierce Manor. While she does her best to adjust to her new life and deal with her grief — shes unable to let go of not knowing what happened to her parents and embarks on discovering the truth no matter how difficult it is.

Warner was there to promote his debut novel, Leigh Howard and the Ghosts of Simmons-Pierce Manor, but, as Swearenjin describes, he seemed “super defeated” from the lack of interest in his display. Although it has heavier themes in like murder, suicide and some violence this manages to stay light hearted and not too serious. The characters felt shallow and inconsistent, there were lapses in time during paragraphs that were unclear and made the story incredibly difficult to follow, and please don’t get me started on the only Hispanic character’s name being Nacho. I hope there are others like this coming, but perhaps it would be better if the book remains a one off and not one of many, it has a stand-alone quality that I particularly like. It was a break in typical content from the creator, whose viewers averaged in the low thousands for videos that primarily featured his home renovation projects.I wish there had been more with the ghosts and her healing and not so much with the cloak and dagger. Shawn has a great style of writing that makes the story easy to follow, and has created loveable characters with an incredibly interesting story.

The cover depicts Leigh, a 16 year old, clad in skin-tight black leather and arching on a motorbike. For example, one paragraph describes Leigh getting into bed, only to then describe it again shortly thereafter. I’m a 49 year old woman who enjoyed harry potters, twilights, terry pratchetts discworld and this book was just the kind of I like.

It was surprising, funny, and an emotional ride for people who have had some of the feelings in this story before.Billy and Blaze always found themselves in the middle of some crisis and, with courage and heroics, never failed to save the day. It was just supposed to be, ‘Hey, here’s a fellow neighbor who’s just struggling and I wanted to help him out,’ ” Swearenjin later told Dallas’s WFAA.
