Description

But the creature he most coveted was a kestrel, a real live kestrel, and one day he was to realise that dream. Chris seems remarkably unconcerned by these attacks, but he deserves our support even if he might shrug them off anyway. Chris brings to life his childhood in the 1970s, from his bedroom bursting with birds' eggs and jam jars, to his feral adventures.

I should admit from the start that Chris Packham is one of my very favourite TV presenters here in the UK. The reader does get a good idea of what it was like to grow up in the 1960s and 1970s and what it's like to suffer with Asperger's, but this is more about Packham than the wildlife he interacts with.He was also fascinated by dinosaurs and amassed an incredible amount of knowledge about his favourite subject. And so I suppose I’m asking, that you forgive any potential nonsense I may inadvertently type, on what I do appreciate to be a brilliant, serious and sensible blog.

I’ve lost a few friends and missed out on making them over the years because they didn’t know I was ill and I didn’t understand, and accept, the illness until some 30 yrs down the line. TV presenter, photographer and conservationist Chris Packham is one of the nation's favourite naturalists. Everything seemed alive in that scintillating moment and as the gleams gyrated and glittered I imagined I could see their tiny twinkling hearts, seeding the sparks that made them so very vivid. He sat back snug and satisfied knowing now that the whirling thoughts and unfamiliar feelings were securely pinned down in the glowing white aurora of his goodreads page and upfalling from his chair he silently crept back through to his waiting bedroom. He is a talented speaker and nobody but him could possibly have read the lines with such perfection. He felt a connection to every creature that was living and had a fascination with those long departed like dinosaurs. Episode 1: Chris begins his recollections as an introverted, unusual young boy, isolated by his obsessions and a loner at school. Seems like an honest insight into the author’s life, a confessional about his struggles with his condition and the liberation he found through punk. I am a huge wildlife lover and think Chris Packham is brilliant at what he does on screen and his incredible knowledge of the natural world astounds me.
