You shouldn't rely on meeting expiration settings for legal protection since end users can modify the expiration date of any recordings they control. Recording expiration settings and Microsoft 365 retention policies in Microsoft Purview Users in Microsoft Teams have the ability to adjust the recording storage and permissions features associated with their meetings. Typically, Teams meeting recordings are automatically uploaded to SharePoint from channels, and OneDrive from an in-chat meeting. I absolutely prefer Coote’s risk-taking to Elizabeth Campbell’s monotonous 2002 performance with Nicholas Braithwaite and the Adelaide SO. Campbell sings all five songs at more or less the same volume, never getting softer than mezzo-forte, and employs insufficient variety of expression.

When the explicit recording policy is enabled, once the meeting recording starts, all participants are muted, with their cameras and content-share off. When a participant decides to unmute, turn on their camera, or share content, they’re prompted to respond "Yes" or "No" to consent to be included in the meeting recording. If an attendee responds “No” to the prompt, they have a view-only meeting experience. View only attendees can't start recordings for any meetings that require explicit consent. Sound recording and reproduction is the electrical, mechanical, electronic, or digital inscription and re-creation of sound waves, such as spoken voice, singing, instrumental music, or sound effects. The two main classes of sound recording technology are analog recording and digital recording. Before 1917, jazz was heard mainly in New Orleans, then later in Chicago and other metropolitan centres. Jazz records gave examples for musicians to listen to and learn, and helped the music spread.Speaking after the verdict, senior crown prosecutor Olivia Cristinacce-Travis said: “It is quite unprecedented to have a narrator, essentially, telling her own story.” Despite the popularity of recordings during World War I, only a limited selection of classical and popular musicwas released, mainly due to the limitations of the technology. More styles were recorded (including jazz) once electronic recording technology was adopted. Follow these steps in the Teams admin center to turn explicit recording consent on or off for users or groups in your organization: By 1924, such dramatic progress had been made that Western Electric arranged a demonstration for the two leading record companies, the Victor Talking Machine Company and the Columbia Phonograph Company. Both soon licensed the system and both made their earliest published electrical recordings in February 1925, but neither actually released them until several months later. To avoid making their existing catalogs instantly obsolete, the two long-time archrivals agreed privately not to publicize the new process until November 1925, by which time enough electrically recorded repertory would be available to meet the anticipated demand. During the next few years, the lesser record companies licensed or developed other electrical recording systems. By 1929 only the budget label Harmony was still issuing new recordings made by the old acoustical process. Then we come to Janet Baker’s venerable 1965 recording with Barbirolli leading the LSO. It’s a performance I’ve heard countless times, but listening to it in this comparative context only deepened my sense of awe and appreciation. Yes, Baker is in her absolute prime here – her tone darkly reedy, like a clarinet/cor anglais hybrid – and Barbirolli is as sensitive a collaborator as one can imagine, but it’s their mastery of the details that makes an extraordinary musical experience. Baker was the first, and remains one of the few, to take Elgar at his word throughout. She only sings forte when the score asks for it, and her poetic response to music and text makes every phrase come alive. How dreamy and delicate ‘In Haven’ is here, for example, and yet it’s also a perfectly unfussy reading that’s made special simply by being so sustained and sincere. And note the faint whiff of tragedy she communicates when she sings ‘Yes, press my eyelids closed’ in ‘Where Corals Lie’.

In one message, a clearly shaken Miss Dale told friends she had a “bad, bad feeling about everything”. One can well believe that Saint-Saëns found his inspiration for the opening measures of the finale in the pounding of the paddle steamer’s wheels as it travelled up the Nile. The final octave peroration played pìu mosso makes for a thrilling conclusion.’ Jonas Kaufmann (Paul), Marlis Petersen (Marietta), Andrej Filonczyk (Frank/Fritz), Jennifer Johnston (Brigitta), Mirjam Mesak (Juliette), Corinna Scheurle (Lucienne), Manuel Günther (Gaston/Victorin), Dean Power (Graf Albert), Bayerische Staatsoper, Kirill Petrenko, Simon Stone (director) (BSO Recordings)a b "First Sounds". Before the 1920s, the music business was dominated by song publishers and popular entertainment such as vaudeville in the US and music hall in the UK. Sheet music and piano rolls outsold records of the same song as music was mostly played by people, not record players. In 1916 some of Laine’s band were recruited to play in Chicago when the ODJB was formed and then, from January 1917, at Reisenweber’s Cafe in New York City – an engagement extended by 18 months due to their success. This led to them recording for the British-owned Columbia Gramophone Company, though Columbia didn’t release the record as it failed to recreate their popular sound and was not considered commercially attractive. Jacobs offers an orchestral balance quite unlike what we are used to. Those who specially relish a Karajan or a Solti will hardly recognise the work, with its strongly wind-biased orchestral balance: you simply do not hear the violins as the ‘main line’ of the music.' ISBN 0-521-47544-9 Sarah Connolly has recorded Sea Pictures three times now. The earliest, from 2006 with the Bournemouth SO under Simon Wright, is the most satisfying, but even there, before her vibrato widened considerably – as can be heard in her vocally wild and woolly later recordings with Andrew Davis (2014) and Oliver Zeffman (2022, live) – you can hear her working to pare down her sonorous tone. And, much as I admire her artistry, I find her voice simply too big, and her delivery often slightly too grand, for such a delicate song as ‘In Haven’ – although in Bournemouth her account of ‘Where Corals Lie’ is quite ravishing.
