The Myrmidesh are an elite warrior-cult who exemplify the pride of the Dark Prince. Each of their blade-sects considers their own favoured technique to be supreme, and on the rare occasions they are proven wrong, their spiteful rage is terrible to behold. Tips on painting the Hedonites of Slaanesh What changed in the new edition for the Slaanesh Sybarites Dark Revellers? No fast, tanky units. You have very fast units (all forms of Seeker) and tough units (Myrmidesh with a native 3+), but you don’t have any that are both. Godseekers’ artefacts are largely the same as before, though Cameo of the Dark Prince now only gives you a command point once per game. The Lash of Despair has you roll for each enemy unit within 6” at the start of the Shooting phase and dealing a mortal wound to them on a 4+. And Girdle of the Realm-Racer lets you trade 1 wound for the ability to Fly. They may be a relatively recent addition to the Mortal Realms’ landscape, but the Hedonites of Slaanesh are more eager than most to embrace new and exotic ideas. Let’s see how they fare. Who are the Hedonites of Slaanesh?

Just before the launch of the new wave of Slaanesh mortals, Games Workshop presented different tutorials to get ready as soon as you can put your hands on the newest models in town. The Slaanesh Sybarites are the newest Age of Sigmar expansion to the Hedonites of Slaanesh army. As such the models are all, except one, brand-new and there are no discounted box available yet. If you are searching for details there’s also a tutorial for a Golden Hedonite Armour, different skin tones and Slaangor skin and claws. There are still three lores for Hedonites, though only one major change to the Lore of Slaanesh, and both are worth mentioning here. Upon succeeding in their trial, the Myrmidesh are granted a curved blade and rune-marked shield, as well as the cult's signature sleek armour. [1a] SourcesThe Nobles of Excess focuses on the new Myrmidesh Painbringers and Symbaresh Twinsouls and gives you the ability to re-roll wound rolls if you charged that turn. And the Exalted Speed Knights calls for 6-9 units of various Seeker units and lets D6 of them get a pre-game scout move of 6”. I love this ability – if the new knights end up being worth their points, this could be incredible. Dance of the Wailing Blade (Double, all Myrmidesh Painbringers): Add 1 to the damage inflicted this round by hits or critical hits. How rude of him. With a Casting Value of 7 (6 on dice for him), it’s pretty easy to throw out. Gross. Just for fun here we present few thematic warbands, meant more for fun or narrative context than for competitive play. Note that in narrative play you need to complete a quest that allows you to recruit a Hero before being able to add him to your roster. Do the Lucid Haze, Scarlet Cavalcade, or Faultless Blade forms of the Invader, Godseeker, or Pretender hosts from Wrath of the Everchosen still apply to the army? If so, it’s peculiar to not include them here.

Do units that were fully wiped out count toward Depravity Points as “a unit on the battlefield that has fewer models in it than it did at the start of the turn?” That “on the battlefield” bit seems to indicate that they don’t count, which may be an OK failsafe for preventing players from gaining too many CP as they destroy enemy units. Slaanesh disciples are divided between those searching for him, those pretending to have replaced him by ascending to godhood and those that do not care and thrive only in war and unending conquests. The good thing about those 2 abilities is that to be efficient you don’t need a high value: a Triple 1 is enough for the Shardspeaker and a Quad 2 or 3 for the Lord of Pain (you don’t need more than Strength 6 and in most cases 5 is enough). And yet, for all their supplication and sacrifice, the Hedonites find their master’s throne empty, for the God of Excess lies imprisoned between the realms by the sorcery of its aelven nemeses. It is for this reason that roving bands of Slaanesh’s faithful march from realm to realm, seeking out any information they can find that might aid in their god’s release – and slaughtering all who would dare get in their way. Glutos has glimmering piggish eyes and an overlong tongue slobbers across drool-covered chins. His body is hideously swollen and from it emerge tentacles and other signs of Dark Prince's blessings. [4b] History Age of SigmarThe worship of Slaanesh often starts with a simple demand from the deity, to pursue their innermost desires without restraint or regret. This edict has become popular and prominent amongst bastions of civilisation. Failing artists, struggling playwrights and overworked citizens are common victims to this command, since Slaanesh provides these people a muse or simple succour. The gatherings of such souls are clandestine, the pleasures experienced in these private groups often start benign, it is a simple reprieve from everyday life. As an added bonus, any wounds Shardslash inflicts cannot be negated, making Sigvald one of the most reliable assassins in the game. Did we mention you’re going to want him in your army? Slaanesh has been imprisoned since the Age of Myth by the Aelven Pantheon (Tyrion, Teclis, Malerion and Morathi) in the Hidden Gloaming, a sub-realm between Hysh, the realm of Light, and Ulgu, the Realm of Shadow. The archers on-foot are the cheapest units of the Dark Revellers. Even the leader is one of the cheapest leaders around.

Like all of the god-beholden Chaos armies, the Hedonites of Slaanesh also present you with a huge variety of mortal and daemonic units to intertwine, creating a fascinating mixture of painting and modelling opportunities. These are the Mortal Realms’ premier party animals after all – go wild with your paint schemes and unleash your boundless creativity.

Symbaresh Twinsouls are warriors (usually ex- myrmidesh) of the Slaanesh Sybarites that, chafing amongst being one amongst the faceless many, took the shortcut to power and allowed themself to be possessed by a daemon of Slaanesh - this is achieved through ritualistically marking their bodies with runes of conjugation and offering up the souls of six aelves. Introduced in the new season of Warcry, Reactions are things that can be done in certain circumstances, but always during the enemy turn. They cost one action, so they can be used only by fighters that have not activated yet or are waiting. There are 3 universal reactions and one specific to each warband:

Depravity Points: Another big rule that was all but guaranteed to change. The general breakdown here is:

The Slaangors are in the middle between a cavalry piece (6″ Movement but not mounted) and a damage dealer, being slightly more efficient in killing than a Symbaresh. Their special ability costs a Double and, combined with the 2″ range of their weapon, allows them to get really close to an enemy without necessarily engaging them. Shortly after launch, a Tome Celestial White Dwarf subfaction was released – Syll’Esske’s own subfaction, which allowed you to double your accumulation of Depravity points. Now players were summoning an extra 2,000+ points to the table. For every Keeper killed, two more would take its place.
